"One Another" Attitudes

Read some great scripture during my study today. I would like to share them with you.

"Be of the same mind toward one another (live in harmony). Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your opinion." Romans 12:16

"Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." Romans 15:5-6

These verses talk about us having one in harmony...with one another and having one purpose which is to glorify God. Phil 2 also talks about us being like-minded meaning have the same love for Christ, being in one spirit and purpose - which is to live to glorify God. In Ephesians 4:32 it talks about some other attitudes in which we need to use in caring and encouraging one another "And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

What challenging verses. God has called us to live this way but why does it seem so difficult at times? I was very challenged in this this past year and it has been amazing to me how when I chose to follow Christ in my attitude towards others the stress and burden that is relieved and also how the love of Christ shines through. When we choose to live like the verses above imagine the encouragment that it would give to others and the unity that we would all have.

Here is a short prayer that I thought was awesome and something that I am going to strive for.

"Heavenly Father; Create within our hearts a broader; more kindly
inclination to extend our hand to whomever You
send along this slipper path of life. May we lovingly
hold each other up and keep each other
from falling. Inspire and enable us to "be there" for each other
as You are there for each of us"
-Marilyn Meberg
Also, some great readings in Romans 12:9-21, 14-15:1-6
